Power Point:
The
thing about “hope” is that we tend to think of it as sort of a “wishy-washy”,
“ooey-gooey” feeling. We think hope is centered around something far away and
in the distant future. Biblical hope is nothing like that. Biblical hope is
solid, grounded belief and anticipation that God is definitely up to
something. It’s meat and potatoes
not fluffy desserts. It is not
wishful thinking. Hope is not just
being optimistic. Hope is rock-solid, confident expectation based on the fact
that God is who He says He is and He will do what He says He will do. Period.
As my grands would say, “It’s a done
deal.”
Hope
is the expression of your faith. Abraham was a great example of hope. In Romans
4:18 it says that even though it didn’t look like any of God’s promises were
possible for him, he believed what God had promised. He expected God to do what
He had said He would do. And He did.
Beloved, hope is a place where God wants us to live. It’s putting on His
glasses and taking a fresh look at your situation through His eyes. It’s seeing
things from His point of view and it’s establishing an atmosphere of faith in
Him.
If
the atmosphere around you is anything but hopeful, it’s your job to change it.
Put on your boxing gloves and punch through that cloud of doubt and unbelief
and knock it OUT! Take it to the mat and declare that Hope is the winner in
your life today. Put your foot on the enemy’s neck and declare Christ’s victory
over that issue. Now. Right now. Don’t let hopelessness and despair rob you of
all that Jesus died to give you Beloved. Fight back. Fight with Hope.
Power Thought:
Only
you can change your atmosphere. Get those boxing gloves on and start fighting
back.
