Point:
So what does freedom really mean?
Freedom means that chains are broken;
that the thing that held you down or held you back is no longer there.
You were once chained to sorrow. Today
you are free if you choose.
You were once chained to despair. Jesus has offered you hope, if you'll take it.
You were once chained to fear. Jesus
has offered you Love so perfect that it is cast out.
Once you were chained to a life of
unforgiveness and guilt. Today you can know that God doesn’t remember all that.
He doesn’t condemn you and so neither should you.
You were once chained to the Father of
Lies. Now you can know the Truth, intimately.
You were once under the power of this
world. Today God’s grace and mercy are following you and hunting you down
wherever you go, ready, willing and able to change your outcome.
Beloved, freedom gives you the chance
of a fresh start-as long as you take
what Jesus has already offered to
you. I think the word “offered” is really important. Jesus is not going to force freedom down your
throat. He is not going to fence you in so that all you can choose is what He
offers. That wouldn’t be freedom would it? And, in case you haven’t noticed, He
is definitely all about freedom.
You already have everything that God
has to offer. He doesn’t have anything else to offer you. Will you “take it” or leave it?
