Scripture: “God’s way of putting people right shows up in the acts of faith,
confirming what Scripture has said all along:
“The person in right standing before God by trusting Him really lives.” Romans 1:17, The Message
Power
Point:
I really try to ignore this verse. I
tried cutting it out of my Bible but then I would pick up another version and there
it was again. (I used to try to do that with Ephesians 5 which said "submit to your husband". It didn't work either.) You can’t seem to get away from the fact that “FAITH” is a
necessary ingredient in the Christian life. Faith is how we survive!
So what does that mean?
So what does that mean?
It means that our faith has to have more substance than our problems.
It means that our solid belief in the
goodness of God for us is non negotiable in hard times. It means that what God says has more substance for us than what is going on around us, or in us.
Faith WALKS. Faith TALKS. Faith ACTS. FAITH is substance that is substantial. Jesus said that when we’re faced with mountains that won’t move, we are to “Have faith in God!” The solid substance of our faith makes the seemingly solid substance of that mountain crumble, because everything He created is subject to the voice of the Lord. Faith believes the impossible and receives the impossible from God. Faith is profitable. Faith and patience working together help us to inherit His promises. And best of all? Faith pleases God.

In fact, unless we have faith, we
cannot please Him.The word "live" in Romans 1:17 really means "survive". According to the dictionary, "a survivor is a person who continues to function or prosper in spite of opposition, hardship, or setbacks."
Someday in heaven, when we have movie day, we'll munch on our popcorn and watch the latest version of "The Survivors". It will be all about those who survived by faith in this life. I'm guessing it will take a long time to view.
Beloved, our status in this world doesn’t please Him. Our accomplishments don’t please Him. The amount of money we give away is not what pleases Him most. What pleases Him most is when, as His children, we choose to believe in Him; we choose to trust Him no matter what, and we receive His promises by faith.

There’s just no way around it is there? In the basic training of the
Christian life, faith is our major weapon.
It is the quality that shields us from every attack of the enemy. Faith requires that we walk according to what God has said, even when we can't see the
path in front of us. We are firmly convinced that His goodness will bring us to a wonderful hope and
future. Why? Because God said so. And because
He always works things for our good. Everything. Do you believe that?
If we have faith in the unseen, we will be as
sure-footed as if we could see the road laid out before us. We walk by faith,
step by step, decision by decision, promise by promise, and Word for Word. We are The Survivors! We press on and push through. Thank You Holy Spirit.Power Thought:
