Key Scripture: “Sanctify yourselves (that is, separate yourselves for special holy purpose), for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.” Joshua 3:5
“And the Lord set a time, saying, “Tomorrow the Lord will do this thing in the land.” Exodus 9:5
Power Point:
“Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya’ tomorrow-
You’re only a day away!”
There’s probably not one person on the face of this earth who has not heard the song “Tomorrow” from “Annie”. I love it. It is the happiest expression of hope and of course once it gets in your head it stays there for a while, which is a good thing.
Recently I heard Erik Johnson, a pastor in California give an interesting perspective on “tomorrow”. Erik has been deaf for many years, or at least mostly deaf, he can hear with hearing aids. Erik and his dad, Bill have seen thousands of people healed of deafness and yet Erik’s situation remains unchanged. One day he was talking to his dad about a service where deafness had been healed. Bill’s comment was: “You’re one day closer to your healing.”
Isn’t that a great expression of faith? Doesn’t it give you hope in the time between the birth of the promise and the answer to the promise? It certainly encourages me and I hope it encourages you too.
What is there in your life today that hasn’t happened “yet”? Have you been praying for a prodigal to return or healing in your body? Could you have been asking God for certain needs to be met that have not seemed to be met yet? Well, Beloved, guess what! You’re one day closer to seeing that child return or that healing in your body. You’re one day closer to seeing every need met, above and beyond all that you can ask or think.
Just one day.
Tomorrow-it’s only a day away. The Lord will do wonders among you.
Power Point:
Can you say, “AMEN”?
