Key Scripture; "They
will not live in fear or dread of what may come, steady and strong, they will
not be afraid, but will calmly face every foe." Psalm 112:7,8 TPT
Power Point:
One of my favorite
scriptures that always brings me back to Him when the storms of doubt are
raging is Isaiah 26:3:
"He will keep me in perfect peace as my mind is fixed on
Him."
When my mind is
scattering and running here, there, and everywhere, and I'm not
"fixed" on anything, I remind myself about my God; my Father who
loves me with all His heart, my Jesus, Who is my Savior Hero, and my precious
Holy Spirit, who is chomping at the bit for me to turn back in their
direction. Mine, all mine!
A fixed mind. Jesus had a fixed mind didn't He? I guess you could say that He was the perfect
example of someone whose faith never wavered, whose thoughts were always on His
Father and His purpose, and One who spent His days and nights intent on staying
fixed. He maintained His focus, He maintained a passionate love for the
Father of Love, and He maintained His anointing to say what The Father
said, and do what the Father did.
A fixed mind is like
concrete. In the beginning stages, it is
mushy, and can be moved around with a shovel.
Over time though, with all the right ingredients added in, it hardens
into a very firm foundation. You can
build a house on it and be pretty sure that the house will stay standing.
Love requires a FIXED mind. If you have been given the command to love, (and if you are IN Christ, you certainly have been!), then what another person looks like or acts like or smells like is not an excuse for you to pass them by. God's mind and heart are FIXED on loving them just as much as He loves you. When we are FIXED on Him, our hearts and minds are fixed on love too. Instead of trying to figure out how to avoid them, we should be asking God to help us think His “Love” toward them.
Beloved, we have been
offered the mind of Christ. Shouldn't we
take Him up on it? We can tell that we
have begun to think like Jesus when our minds are fixed on Him. The result will be Perfect Peace. When we are listening to His words, and then
applying them to our lives we are FIXED on Him. That leads us into His purposes
fulfilled for us and His mind is FIXED on us! (Now THERE's a thought!)
Would it interest you to
know that when God says He will keep us, He is saying that He will "faithfully
guard, watch over us, and keep us from danger, keep us close and set up a
blockade around us." Jesus
would not have taken one step without knowing that His Father was faithfully
guarding Him, and keeping Him close. He kept His mind fixed on that. Do
you remember when the Pharisees came to kill Jesus and He walked right through
them? Could that have been the Father
"blockading" Him? Hmm.
Whatever has stolen
your focus away from the goodness and kindness of God for you- today, this
moment is the time to ask Jesus to fill your thoughts so that your mind is as
fixed on God as His is.
Beloved, when your
mind is fixed on Him, His love for you will flow without interruption and you’ll
remember that there is no better place to be than in the safety and security
and wisdom of your heavenly Father. You will live in perfect peace. Just
like Jesus.
Power Thought:
In peace is a good place to be. Not as the world gives but
only as God gave it. Perfectly.
