JESUS
Key Scripture: "That at the name of Jesus every knee should
bow, of those in heaven and all those on earth, and of those under the earth,
and that every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of
God the Father." Philippians 2:10,11

Jesus. There's just something about that name isn't there? Jesus
defined Himself as the Truth that had come to set us free. There is no other
name in heaven or in earth that does that. Seriously.
When we "confess" the name of Jesus in our lives we are
agreeing with God that the name of Jesus has personally set us free. The name
of Jesus is not just for Sunday morning or a crisis situation or to tack on the
end or a prayer. The name of Jesus is the Truth that sets us free. His
name brings every ounce of kingdom life into us, around us, and through us- and
it’s there to set us free.
The word "name" in the Hebrew and Greek means so much more
than just what you call someone. It identifies the authority, the character and
Who they represent. When you speak the name "Jesus" you are
aligning yourself with all that He is and all that He represents. Beloved, He
says He is the Truth that will set you free.
It must sadden Him when we forget to speak His name into a situation
in our lives. It must sadden Him at times to see us struggle and be in pain,
and be desperate and discouraged and never mention His name. You could put a big
smile on His face today by whispering His name into your life and agreeing with
God that what He represents and is for you is powerful enough to change things.
When I "take my
name" to the bank to withdraw money or pay my bills, my name is on record
as having the funds to do that. You can't take those funds out but I can,
because you are not "in my name". The wonderful thing about Jesus is
that He gives us His name, His authority, His kingdom power to spend in our lives, without reservation. When
we go to our heavenly bank we just walk up to the "teller" and speak
the name of Jesus and everything that is in His account is released to us. It's free for the asking.
How will you spend what you have today? Will you whisper His name
into those relationships that aren’t what they should be? Will you speak His
name over your ill child? Will you
set your life “free” in every situation?
That was the plan from the beginning, you know. Jesus didn’t die for
no reason. He died to set you free.
And you can take that to the bank!
