"Rejoice! ...Behold your King is coming to you, He is
just and brings salvation."
Zechariah 9:9
Power Point:
Recently, the
Lord said something to me that really made me think. He said, "I am not JUST another God, I AM
the only just God." Think
about that. Do you think it’s possible that sometimes you think of
Him as JUST another God? Do you
find yourself making Him smaller than He is?
Are there areas where you make Him just a part of how you work
through problems?
Beloved, He's not just another God. Sometimes we make the Stock Market our god
don't we? Our emotions swing up and down
in tandem with its rise and fall.
Sometimes we make people our God. We run to tell friends our problems and then
as a last resort we turn to God.
Sometimes we make doctors, or finances, or even our spiritual
successes our gods don't we?
As I was thinking
about this, I realized that one of the areas of my life where God is cleaning
out the dust is the area of compromising what He says to me at the risk of
offending someone else. At times I have been more
willing to compromise what HE says than to confront someone who is telling me
the exact opposite of what He tells me. Ouch. (I’m gaining on it!)
I am reminded of a
time many years ago, when my husband and I were building a home.
The "wisdom" of the day was, "This could kill your
marriage!" "Boy are you in for
a rough ride!". (I know. Job's
friends gathered around.) Instead of listening to them, however, we decided to
begin listening to God. It made us so much more aware of how to turn
opportunities for dissension into opportunities for unity. It actually was one of the most rewarding times of our lives. We went with the Flow and the flow was GOOD! We actually enjoyed it and became even closer a result!

When my children were
young, we had a dream for them to attend a Christian School. To the natural eye it looked impossible. We did
not have the finances or even the hope of finances to begin the process. Then
one day, the Lord showed me 2 Chronicles 20. It is a powerful warfare prayer
and I've used it often since then. Jehoshaphat and the children of Israel are
surrounded by enemies, and to their untrained eyes, there was no way out. Jehoshaphat,
a godly leader, makes this wonderful statement:
"Lord, we are POWERLESS (which was true) against those who are
coming against us, BUT our eyes are on YOU!" (That’s
was theTruth). Those words wrapped
themselves around our hearts and we begin to proclaim them. Guess what!
God showed up as more than just a god. He showed up as our MIGHTY God. Both children graduated high school from
those Christian Schools, and we were able to help other children along the
way. What we see as impossible, God sees
as extraordinary opportunities to show up and show off for His kids, because
He's not just your ordinary every day God.
A key help in
remembering to think about God as more
than just a god is to always dive into His word and find out what He says
about His relationship to you and your inheritance promises from Him. You have
to know that He is not just another god, He is a MIGHTY God who searches
hearts every day to find people who believe that and call on Him so that He can
show Himself strong for them.
When Satan tries to
diminish God's stature in your eyes through His lies, take time to remind
yourself Who God is, Who He says He would be for you, and Who He has promised
to be for you in your situation.
Don't let the Stock
Market, or your doctor, or your friends, or your spouse, or your enemies tell
you that God is just another god. He's real, Beloved, and He's really, really
amazing. Your problem is just another opportunity for Him to show you how great
He really is.
