Power Of The Wilderness

Key Scripture:  "And I will speak comfort to her, and lead her to a Door of Hope."
Hosea 2:14
Power Point:
It was probably just an ordinary Thursday.  Jesus found Himself watching John baptize people in the Jordan River and He knew His time had come.  Imagine that glorious moment. Imagine seeing the Holy Spirit descend and the voice of His Father saying, "You are My Beloved Son. I am well pleased!"  The next moment He suddenly finds Himself alone in a desert- alone with the Holy Spirit. We don't know for sure, but it seems to me that during that time, Jesus may have heard His Father's voice again and again, reminding, reinforcing, and repeating the words, "My Son, I am well pleased with You."
We often think about the wilderness as a barren, harsh place. The Truth is it can be a glorious place of connection with the Father's heart for us. In that place, He promises to draw us closer, to speak words of comfort and encouragement.  That  place is not only a place of isolation but of insulation. The only voice you will hear there is the Voice of God, saying, "You are my child.  I am WELL pleased with you.  I've got some plans for you. I'm here for you."  Those are the words that will strengthen you.  Those are the words that strengthened Jesus.
Whatever happened there, the teaching and the revelation; the laying out of plans; the delight of heavenly intimacy, all those things prepared Jesus for the next part of His journey.  There was a divine purpose for the wilderness. That purpose was to empower the Son of God to become the Savior of the world. It was a glorious One on One time in privacy and seclusion with no one else to distract or interfere. Jesus came out of that place in power.  POWER!!!!!!! He went about doing good, healing the sick and changing the world. He went out of the wilderness uniquely equipped to save the world.
The wilderness becomes a fruitful field.
Beloved, remember that the Holy Spirit LED Jesus into the Wilderness.  It was not an accident. After the anointing and the Love of the Father was revealed, the next step was to go to a private place. The wilderness was always part of the plan- the place where Jesus could grow in understanding and wisdom about His position, His purpose and His power.
You may find yourself in a wilderness today.  You may be thinking that somehow God has made a mistake, and He has abandoned you.  First you need to determine if YOU led you there or the Holy Spirit led you there. There is a difference you know. Sometimes we can find ourselves in the wilderness because of our own choices and the desert is simply a desert without hope. On the other hand, if the Holy Spirit has led you there then it is a place of instruction and communication with Him, of glorious revelation, and a resting place on the way to the Door of Hope that He always promises you will find there. In that place, you will find your spirit man refreshed and nourished. You will feel new depths of the presence of God and understand more fully the genuineness of His goodness.  You will begin to experience the love He has for you.
You will begin to know Him as you never have before, and that will empower you for the path ahead.  In the "divine wilderness", you will always find a Door of Hope, and come through it full of His power to do good.
We never need to fear the Wilderness, Beloved, if we are there under His direction. If your wilderness is of your own making, He's still there and He can, and wants to make it a place of encounter with Him.  He wants to affirm His love for you, and anoint you with power so that you can come out with hope, restored and renewed and ready, secure in the comfort of knowing that you are His Beloved Child, and He is well pleased with you.  Everything with God starts from that place and ends at that place.
That's what you can learn in the Wilderness: The Love of God, the Acceptance of God, and the glorious Truth that  He is with you to lead you to substantial hope.
Power Thought.
Being led by the Spirit will sometimes lead us to a Divine Wilderness, which will lead us through the Door of Hope into all that God has prepared for us.
