Power Of Being In Him

Key Scripture:

Power Point:

I may have stress but I don't let it define me.

I may have problems but I don't let them define me.

I may be angry but I don't let anger define me.

I may be fearful but I don't let fear define me.

BECAUSE

I am, who GOD says I am.

I can DO what GOD says I can do.

I have what GOD says I have.

I am loving, patient, kind, and generous.

I heal the sick, raise the dead,

The joy of The Lord defines me.

The peace of God defines me.

The provision of God defines me.

The power of God defines me.

When I do the little, He always does the BIG.

When I step out in faith, YOU put the steps under my feet.

When I speak His heart, He changes my heart.

THE HEALER defines me.

THE PROVIDER defines me.

I do not lack! I lack no good thing.

When I am confused, I ask God for wisdom and He pours it into me. He shows me the path to His provision and His promises.

When I lose my way, He shows me His way.

When I fall from GRACE in dealing with life, He stirs it up in me again.

I am defined by His grace.

My life is limited to the boundaries of God's grace.

Heaven moves freely in my life every single day.

Heavenly wisdom, and power and authority define my life.

Goodness defines me.

Mercy defines me.

P-A-T-I-E-N-C-E defines me.

Blessing defines me.

Power defines me.

He defines me, and I define Him.

Isn't that a Powerful Thought?

Power Of Grace and Mercy

Key Scripture:  "Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we might obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need."  Hebrews 4:16

Power Point:

     I love Hebrews 4:16 which says, "Let us therefore, (because Jesus is on the Throne),  come boldly, (without hesitation, with cheerful courage and expectancy) to the Throne where He is enthroned, the Throne of Grace, in order that we might find all the mercy and grace we could ever possibly need to help us through difficult times."  (That's the Suzanne version!) I really began to think about that phrase "come boldly to the Throne of Grace to receive mercy and grace to help in time of need."

Have you ever found yourself approaching His Throne hesitantly?

Why are we hesitant to rush to receive mercy and grace that promises to help us? Is it because we don't believe that those are the things we will find there?

     In 2 Corinthians 12, the apostle Paul is caught up into the third heaven. From that vantage point, things look a whole lot better to him. He has recently been through a lot.  He had to be let down over the wall in a basket to escape being killed. But then God showed up. Paul says it this way: "Ï was caught up into heaven and heard inexpressible words." I think Paul heard words of mercy and grace from the mouth of Jesus Himself. He became a totally changed man. We often read this passage where Paul is relating exactly what Jesus has told him:  "Son, My grace is sufficient for you. When you are weak, then I can show My Strength in you through My Holy Spirit. You are a new creation,

remember?"  
    The really amazing word here is "sufficient". I usually hear that interpreted as "barely making it through by the "Grace of God"; struggling, hanging on to the end  of the rope, and hoping against hope to make it through to the breakthrough.

     Would't you be surprised to learn that that is NOT what the word means at all? This, Beloved, is what Jesus is telling you. The word "sufficient" means:

-His grace is powerful enough, to uniquely equip us to defeat every enemy.

-His grace is more powerful than any weakness we have, even a weak faith.

-His Grace "raises a barrier against, wards off any attack against us. It is powerful enough to stop the enemy in his tracks.

-His Grace is the "supernatural ability or miraculous faculty to maintain our call-for ALL that HE is enabling us to become." (NSFB)

     Can't you imagine Paul's shock at being "snatched up, up and away", by the hand of God and firmly seated in heavenly places? What he saw there, changed his life. I think it could change ours as well.  From that perspective he knew that nothing would ever be able to separate Him from the Loving Grace of God again.  His weaknesses and his faults would never be able to dominate his thoughts because he was consumed with the beauty of God's grace in Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

     Are you cheerfully expectant that you will encounter Grace and Mercy? Or are you concerned that God might be miffed at you.  My toy poodle, Gaby gets miffed with me at times, He will sit beside me but turn his back to me. He will not even look at me until I apologize and beg his forgiveness for whatever wrong I have done. Fortunately God is NEVER like that. His arms are open.  His heart is full to overflowing with love. And He is gracious and helpful.

     But it's MY fault I'm in this mess. I don't deserve to be helped.  Good news! That's what Grace is-help for those who do NOT deserve it. 

     His grace is powerful enough not to be limited by you.  He comes quickly to help and to strengthen you for your battle. Need more faith?  Surprise!  God will help you. Feeling weak? He's got all the strength you need.   
     God always shows up best in our weakest places, probably because  those are the places where we finally give up and let God do what He wanted to do all along.

     Beloved, His grace is the manifestation of His desire to help us. His mercy is the fullness of His compassion for us in any circumstance.  Grace is  there to ward off the enemy and make sure that he cannot steal our destiny. Mercy is there to help us understand God's great unconditional love for weak people, and how very approachable He is.

     Will you come to the Throne of Grace today, cheerfully expecting Grace and Mercy? 

I hope so!

Power Thought:

Today is the first day  of the rest of your life. Why not live out the rest of your life resting in His Grace and Mercy?

Isn't that a grace-full thought?

Power of Impossible Possibilities

Key Scripture:  "For with God all things are possible!"  Matthew 19:26

Power Point:

     "But that's impossible!" You've probably heard someone say that a time or two.  In fact, you've probably said it a time or two yourself-with good reason! The situation looks invincible. There appears to be no way to conquer it or defeat it.

     The disciples faced those kind of situations a time or two didn't they?  When Peter started his walk on the water, it suddenly occurred to him that this was impossible.  That's when he began to sink.  Then he saw Jesus, and the improbability of walking on water became a definite possibility. Jesus was already "out there" after all. He was with God, and God was with him.

     The lame man who had lain by the pool of Bethesda for thirty-eight years with the hope that he would be healed was definitely in an impossible situation. Everyone else got into the healing waters before him. Then one day, what seemed impossible became a glorious possibility because Jesus showed up. God was with him.

     In Psalm 34, God has given His children some specific promises of possibility.

"I sought Him, He heard me, and delivered me from ALL my fears.

I cried out to Him, and He heard me and saved me from ALL my troubles.

There is NO want to those who trust Him.

Those who seek Him will not lack ANY good thing.

The righteous cry. The Lord hears-and delivers them out of ALL their troubles!"

     You may find yourself today, in the thick of an impossible situation with invisible solutions.

     The prophet Elisha woke up one morning to find himself surrounded by an invincible army.  When his servant was consumed with fear, Elisha asked God to let his servant see what he himself saw. In Elisha's line of vision, the mountains around the armies, were filled with heavenly armies. God was with them.

When King David was surrounded by the Philistine army, God told him to wait until he heard angels marching in the tops of the trees.  Beloved, we have to see our situations guided by His Spirit, and we have to hear spiritually as well.  Ask God to remove the scales from your eyes and help you to see your situation from His perspective.  Ask Him to open your ears to hear the angel armies marching around that army of threatening circumstances that are against you. God is with you.

     David's great strength was that he trusted God to fight with him and for him. He was absolutely awestruck by the goodness of God. Elisha's great strength was that he saw invisible solutions in impossible situations.

     Your strength today comes from the same Spirit that opened David's ears to hear, and showed Elisha what to see. He will always help you to see what He sees. If you see Him, He will deliver you from ALL your fears, and ALL your troubles.  He promised them, and He promises you the very same thing.

     The prophet Jeremiah said it beautifully, "Oh Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm, There is nothing too hard for You."  A few verses later The Lord responds to Jeremiah, "Behold I am The Lord, the God of all flesh  Is there anything too hard for Me?"

No Beloved-there isn't. You are with God and God is with you.  And HE is invincible.

Power Thought:

What may seem like an impossible situation is only awaiting the touch of God's hand to move it into the realm of possibility, which is where He lives ALL the time. Wouldn't you like to live there too? With Him? Open your eyes and ears.

Power Of Freedom

           Power Of Freedom

    

     Our freedom is birthed in our knowledge of who Jesus is and what He has done for us. He came to bring us into a deeply personal relationship with the ALMIGHTY God who rules heaven and earth.

     He came to set us free; free from oppression, from lies, from powerlessness and from all other evil.  It is the Truth about Jesus and the Truth about His Resurrection that sets us free.

     This nation was built on those Truths.  God's Spirit began working into everyday people's hearts a longing and a calling to see His Truth set free to set them free.  He began calling them to America and He equipped them and fought with them to establish a country of unparalleled freedom. For two hundred years we have fought evil from beyond our shores and won.

Then the attacks began to come from within the heart of this country.  God has been under attack and we have sacrificed His name and reputation on the world's altar of self-sufficiency, and self-preservation without even realizing it. 

     As I began to look at the life of  King David, I began to see that in every battle he fought, God was the One who was really under attack. If you remember Goliath, a puny little giant who was coming against the armies of God and defaming Him.  David took exception to that and fought for God's reputation. And he won.

     When David was in dire straits against the Philistine army, God gave him the perfect, winning, strategies. He cautions him to listen for the sounds of the angels marching before his own puny little army. When David pressed through to hear God, God broke through the armies of the enemy and destroyed them.  These were His chosen people, for better or for worse,  and so it was His battle and His name that was on the line.

    We have a God who believes that for better or for worse, we are His people.  We have a God that believes that because of Jesus, we are perfect in every way.  We have a God who delivers.

We have a God who always comes to the aid of His people and gives them divine strategies to win.  Don't be misled, my friend, the battle for freedom in this country is not against us, it is a challenge against the reputation of our God. It's time to begin boasting in Him again isn't it?  It's time to begin making Him famous for His Goodness, for His provision, and for His amazing grace.

To do that we have to stop relying on the world's systems, and trust Him to set us free. Just Him.

     The following words are from Anne Graham Lotz's 7.7.7 prayer challenge for our country. If you haven't seen it, go to her website.  It is excellent. It is thoughtful, sincere repentance and a return to our position of trust and obedience to the Truth that set us free; a return to boasting about God.

"We worship You, Lord Jesus Christ, on this our nation's birthday, as the All-Mighty - our breathtaking and all-powerful Lord.  You measure the waters in the hollow of Your hand.  You weigh the mountains on scales.  You stretch out the heavens like a curtain.  Your immensity is impossible for us to comprehend.  You make a way when there is no way. You are a prayer-hearing, prayer-answering, miracle-working God!  Our nation's history gives testimony to Your strength to establish, preserve, and prosper us."

     We repent of our arrogance and pride that have led us to think we are sufficient in ourselves.

     We repent of believing that the prosperity of our nation is because we are great, while refusing to acknowledge that all blessings come from Your hand.

     We repent of looking to the President or to our Pastor or to a Priest or to a government agency for the help we need before we look to You.

     We repent of depending upon our military might and our weapons systems to protect us from harm and danger, while denying, defying and ignoring You.

     We repent of disobeying Your commands, using our weakness as an excuse.

     We repent of living under the burden of our problems instead of rolling them onto Your capable and strong shoulders.

I repent of___________

     We choose to rely on You and to pray without ceasing.

I choose now to_________

     We ask that You strengthen Your people with might on the inside; that You make one of us as mighty as a thousand.

     We ask that You give us deep convictions regarding the truth of who You are and what You have said, and the courage to stand up and speak out for them.

      We ask that You give us experiences of Your miraculous enabling as we live in total dependence upon Your strength, so that we boast of our own weaknesses.

      We ask that you give us blessed assurance that greater are You in us, than the evil that’s in the world, so that we stand against it.  Remind us that Your love is stronger than hate, and the Light of Your Truth will never be overcome by the darkness, so that we lovingly and boldly proclaim that victory has been won!  Jesus saves!

And we ask that You would continue to bless America and return her to the foundation of her faith in You.

 FOR YOUR GLORY,   AMEN!

Repentance is necessary for resurrection.  The word "repent" means to think differently and go in a new direction.  It's time, Beloved. It's time to decide whether the Truth will set you free or the world will set you free.

Go Jesus!

Power Of Friends

Key Scripture:  "A sweet friendship refreshes the soul."  Proverbs 27:6

Power Point:

   I have friends.  Most of the time I love them. At other times I have to remind myself that I love them.  Sometimes they annoy me. Sometimes I annoy them. I have a group of women who have met together every Tuesday afternoon for prayer and encouragement for nearly twenty years. I guess you could say we are "old" friends, "fast friends", "dear friends".  I know that if there was ever anything I needed and they could provide it, they would.  I know that in spite of their "few" flaws, they're seeking God with all their heart and always seeking the best for me in spite of my flaws.

 That's what friends do isn't it?  They are "there" for each other, wherever "there' is. 

     God called Abraham His friend.  Jesus calls us His friends. God spoke to Moses face to face as a friend.  He walked in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve every single day, to talk with them.  He caught up on their activities, probably gave then a bit of advice, and just enjoyed their company.

     Friendship is priceless but it will always cost you something.  God has always wanted to be your "friend".  Whenever you read about the Covenant, the parties involved in the covenant are called "Friends". In the terms of covenant relationship, you offer to your "friend" all that you have and all that you will ever have.  It is a deeply committed relationship.  It is a "fast" friendship, tightly knit together by love, respect, and honor.

     Your Friend, Jesus, has vowed to love you forever. Your Friend, Jesus, has committed Himself in the extreme to your relationship.  Before He came to earth, we were like servants; people who obeyed but weren't connected with God. Then in John 15, Jesus says, "I'm no longer calling you servants because servants don't understand what their master is thinking and planning.  No. I've named you friends because I've let you in on everything I've heard from my Father."

     Jesus offers us friendship with God. Friendship, true friendship is a growing relationship.

My Tuesday friends have walked through a lot of issues together over 20 years, but because God is our BEST friend, He showed us how to be GOOD friends, even in rocky places.     

     If God were any less than Who He is, He would probably get annoyed with me on a regular basis. If He were any less than Who He is, He would probably avoid me at times. But He doesn't.  He's the PERFECT FRIEND.

Proverbs 17 says that friends love through all kinds of weather.  God is like that.

Proverbs 18 says that a true friend sticks by you.  God is like that.

Proverbs 27 says that a nearby friend is a good friend.  God is like that.

     Some of the wonderful aspects of friendship with God is that He loves you unconditionally, and continually.  He sticks by you through thick and thin.  He is closer than a brother.  He's always "face to face". You never see Him walking away from you.

     One thing I have come to appreciate about my Friend is that He gives me correction when I'm on the wrong path. He does it without condemnation or judgment or a critical spirit. He does it with Grace, and it blesses me. I am excited to know that He won't let me stumble without giving me a hand up.

     Have you discovered the glorious blessing of being Friends with God?  It is a fast Friendship that He is relentlessly pursuing with you.  He doesn't want to be a casual acquaintance.  He's invested everything He has to be your friend.  Won't you take Him up on it? A good friend wishes you well at all times.  Who wouldn't want that for heaven's sake?

Have you ever thought about being a FRIEND of God? You are, you know.
