Power Of The Power Of The Flesh

Key Scripture: "For to be (unspiritually)  minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace."  Romans 6:6
Power Point:
When you think about Pentecost and the POWER Bomb that exploded in that tiny room its easy to see that heaven had been saving up and all of it came at once in that little place. From that room, Power (with a capital "P"), began to cover the earth. It’s pretty easy to visualize all that Power but somehow we get confused about what it means for us personally don't we?
The word for Power in the Holy Spirit is defined as great energy, great force, great ability and great strength. It’s great! It’s like drinking a glass of TNT in one gulp.  I don’t know about you but when I first became a Christian I needed some TNT! My old thoughts, my old actions; my old “ME” needed some blasting out. I was a long way from being even a tiny bit like Jesus. In fact, I still need a sip now and then.
We love to think about the Power of God being used to simply heal people, or to preach with power-the great things. They are part of our job description after all and His grace equips us to do just that.
But when Holy Spirit is in you, the biggest battle He faces is with your own flesh. He has the capability, the energy and the strength to slay that dragon but He needs your help. You have to ask Him to stir up all that Power in order to join hands with Him to fight your flesh and set your spirit free. First you might need to acknowledge that you’ve been a bit lazy to show up for battle. Next you might want to decide that “old things” are no longer acceptable because there’s someone equipping you right this moment to bring in all the “new” Power that God has for you.
It’s still your choice. Hopefully you will chose to make this battle the beginning of the end for your “unspiritual” self. Is it time to take ownership of all that Power and release it so He can do what He came to do?
Is it time to accept that you have the Power to be forgiven but that you also have the Power to forgive?
Is it time to accept the fact that even though you feel like hating someone you have the capacity, the energy, and the forceful Power of God in you to love them?
Is it time to stop being out of control and allow Holy Spirit to empower you to be self-controlled?
Is it time to change the status quo and make a new normal? Is it time for you to live according to the Power that works in you?
Of course it is. So start! Ask the Helper to blast out everything that's keeping His hands tied, and release the great power, energy, force, ability and strength that He gave you so long ago to change direction and begin to win the great battle of flesh and spirit. Let all that love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, gentleness, loyalty and self-control explode!
Power Thought:
Are you fighting WITH Him or against Him?
