Power Of Knowing That A Promise Is A Promise

Key Scripture:  “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine promises have given to us all things pertaining to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us…”  I Peter 1:2,3
Power Point:
There are so many promises for us from our heavenly Father. Usually we look at them and say, “Oh that would be nice!” Seldom do we dig into the potential they offer to us.  Our heavenly Father has already given us all things that pertain to life and godliness.” What? How! Through knowing Him.
As the children of Israel marched out of slavery in Egypt, the were “covered” with the Presence of God.  They were in a huge divine bubble of God’s love and protection.  But they didn’t know Him.  They still had a slave mentality and no reference for what being “blessed” would look like. Maybe they were just afraid to hope. God tried to help them. He gave them specific lists of blessings and curses and how they could choose to be blessed instead of cursed.  But somehow they just didn’t get it and so, instead of marching them right into the Promised Land, God led them around in circles for forty years to help them get to know Him.
Many of them died without ever entering into the Land of His promises.
They never got to know Him

As Christians we are to grow in knowing Him.  Our roots are to be firmly planted in the enormity of God’s love for His children. In fact, we are to be so rooted and grounded in that love that it’s supposed to “stun” us into realizing how very good He is and how very much He has promised us. He has promised us every spiritual blessing, and all things we could ever need pertaining to life and godliness.
I don’t know where you are in your growth process but I’d like to give you a few things to think about.
You may have a health issue.  You’ve dealt with it every way possible. You’ve come to accept it as a part of your life, part of God’s will for you.
But what if it isn’t?
What if you grew in your understanding of the love He has for you to set you free? What if you thought that He really, really desires good health for you? Because He's always good. Because He's always kind.
Perhaps you have a financial issue? No matter how you look at it, there simply isn’t enough money at the end of the month.  You don’t have a rich uncle who just died and left you a million dollars and things look grim.
But what if they aren't?
What if you searched out the promises of provision that God has given you?
What if you understood that He always provides-not only every need, but the dreams and desires in your heart? What if what you see, isn't what He sees for you?
Beloved, searching and seeking to know Him is the foundational principle of living in God’s kingdom.  If you seek Him you will find Him. If you grow in your knowing of Him, you’ll discover He’s much more than you thought!
What if you really believed that every need will be met? What if you really believed that He is so kind and loving and good that He wants abundance for your life; He wants heaven on earth for you!
Jesus already died so that you could enter into the Promised Land.  Those promises are the means of provision for you. What do you know about them and what are you doing with them?
Will you be like the children of Israel, marching in circles in the wilderness, covered by God’s presence but never getting to know Him. The whole purpose of Jesus coming to earth was to show You the goodness of your heavenly Father. The whole purpose of the Holy Spirit is to guide you into all the Truth that can be known about Him.
What if His promises are true? What if the land you are walking on today is a blessed land, an anointed land, a Promised Land?
Before you take another step, find out who He really is, and who He really wants to be for you.
It will change everything.
Power Thought:

Are you walking in circles or marching into the wonder of the love of God expressed through His promises? What is your reality? Is it the kingdom above you or the kingdom around you?
