Power Of The Promises

Everyone is given the same words. It is only when you “pick them up” off your path that they become yours. It’s only when you “Take them to heart”, that they become a rhema word, the personal word of God to you.

Have you been a little jealous of someone else’s success with the Promises of God?  You see blessings flowing all over them and you’re a little put out at their progress. Or maybe you just “wonder at the wonder” you see in their lives.  Scripture says that God is not a respecter of persons. I think that means that those promises are as much for you as they are for someone else.  I think that means that YOU are responsible to take them to heart.

The word for “receive” in the New Testament is a verb! It means to “take it”. It means to “take hold of something, to grasp it in your hand.”  Jesus said in Luke 18:17, “Truly I say to you, whoever does not accept and receive (grasp) and welcome the kingdom of God like a little child (does) not in any way enter it (at all.) ( Amplified).

At all? Uh oh!

So if God has done everything He has ever needed to do for you by offering you His promises-(and He has) then what’s the problem?  In fact, In 2 Peter 1:1-4, Peter is quite specific isn’t he? He says, “…as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness.”  “US” means you too. If you remember in Matthew 13, in the parable of the Sower there are many people who are walking on that road to eternity and it is completely littered with the promises of God. Only a very few pick them up and “take them to heart”. Only a few receive them.

Will you take a look at your life today and see how God’s promises have given you an abundant life? Like confetti, the Promises of God are covering the path ahead.  Take a look around your feet, at the promises you’ve walked on but not in?  Is it time to slow down and take in the view from heaven for your life.

Of course it is.  Get busy!

TAKE the Holy Spirit to heart.

TAKE the Promises of God to heart.

TAKE the Inheritance which has been handed to you.

TAKE it and run with it.
