Power Of Your Father's Eyes

Power Of Your Father's Eyes
Key Scripture:  "Keep me as the apple of Your eye."  Psalms 17:8
Power Point:
I was journeying through my favorite chapter of Exodus, (33), where Moses is asking God to explain how He can possibly be so good.  Remember they've been in bondage for over 400 years and they haven't the vaguest clue about the goodness of God.  No wonder they were a little confused!
At any rate, God looks Moses straight in the eye and says, "You are My friend! I am always good to My friends. (okay this is the Suzanne translation!)  The scripture actually says, "So, the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend."  Moses appears to be a bit concerned that God will not go on this journey with them. He says to God, "If I've found grace in your sight Lord, show me your glory."  God replies, "I'll do that because you have found grace in My sight and I know you by name."
That's quite an exchange isn't it?
Do you remember the story of Esther? She was a beautiful young Jew who caught the eye of the King. Entering the throne room of the king was a bit scary.  If he was in a good mood you might receive your request. If he was in a bad mood it could be "off with their head!  Esther had to pray and fast and spend time getting herself perfectly prepared in order to go in to see the king.  And then it  still depended on his mood at the that moment. What an awful way to live!
Beloved, when you look in your Father's eyes, you are looking at the King of Kings. He is your friend and He's always good to His friends!  If you look into His eyes, like Moses, you will see the grace there for you.  You will never have to worry about whether or not He will allow you to come near and present yourself to Him.  He's always looking on you with favor. He's done that from the first moment He laid eyes on you in Jesus. And that won't ever change.
He wants to talk to you face to face, eye to eye.
When the children of Israel began their journey out of Egypt, it was called, "the night of Hashem". ( God). Hebrew scholars say that it was the night of the
protection of His children. They say that God had been anticipating this night for 400 years to deliver His children. Not only were they protected from the plagues, but as they left, the Egyptians forced all their valuables upon them.  Moses wrote that when they left there was not one feeble or poor person among them.
Now that's favor. And that's Grace.
Never forget that your Father is always holding out His scepter to you-in fact He's always got His arms wide open. You are always highly favored.  You can always enter the Throne room, the place of great grace.
The Prodigal Father waited daily for his son to come home, and the day finally arrived when, still smelling of pigs and corn husks, he ran into his Father's arms and found total acceptance and love.
Maybe you've spent some time in the pig pen recently. Your Father is waiting with open arms and Grace in His eyes. What are you waiting for? Run! He knows your name and how many hairs are on your head. You are not a surprise.  He will never turn away from you. There is Grace in His eyes, and He can hardly wait to show it to you.
Power Thought:
By the way, do you have your Father's eyes? Do others see His grace there?
