Powering UP America!

Key Scripture:  “Christ has set us free to live a free life.  So take your stand! Never again let anyone put a harness of slavery on you.”  Galatians 5:1
Power Point:
Recently, in the news, it was revealed that soldiers were told to “stand down”. That means that they were to take no further aggressive action toward their enemy.  In the Old Testament, God often told people to “stand down”.  In fact, He often did that when they were on the eve of a major battle.  Remember Jehoshaphat? God told him, “This isn’t your battle, its Mine. Go get some rest.” (Suzanne version). Remember when the children of Israel were getting ready to try to swim through the Red Sea to avoid Pharaoh’s armies? God said, “Stand still, and see what I will do.” And they did.
At other times, God tells us to walk, to march, to speak out, to stand out in a crowd.  In this nation, we need His army of Believers to know which one He wants us to do.  Sometimes we speak out when we should be quiet. Sometimes we stand out for the wrong reasons.  Beloved, God has a plan for America, and if there’s a tug in your heart when you think about that, then you are part  of His strategic alliance to bring the victory. We are always supposed to stand in the gap.
When the election is over and the results are in, believers will still be on the march.  Jesus said, “My sheep know My voice.” In other words, Jesus has a voice that is recognizable to His children, and we get to be the sound voice of reason for Him, right here and right now.  What will you do to help America trust God once again?  Where will you serve as a wise steward?  What will you do to challenge the status quo with the Truth?
Once the nation of Israel crossed over the Red Sea they still had to create their destiny. They had the choice to choose life but unfortunately they often chose death. They still had a “slave mentality” and they still wanted everything provided for them the easy way. They didn’t listen to the Voice of Reason. In fact, In Isaiah 1:18 God pleads with them to “Come, let’s reason this thing out together.” Sometimes things look impossible to us in the natural, but remember this Beloved, God always has a plan, and you are a key part of that plan. Ask Him what He wants you to do, and where He wants you to do it. And don't despise small beginnings!
I learned a key fact about Nehemiah recently. In the book of Ezra the Jews were attempting to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. For 70 years, (seventy!), they would build in the daytime and the enemy would tear down what they had built that night. When Nehemiah, (whose name means “Comforter”), appears, it takes 52 days for the walls to be completed. That’s what happens when the Holy Spirit is in charge my friend. It’s a perfect picture of Him coming in like a flood and washing the enemy out of all his hidden places.
I don’t think its time for any of us to “stand down”.  I think it’s time for us to stand up and be counted for the kingdom of God.
Where will you stand with Him?

Power Thought:
"Standing down" does not mean "lying down" on the job! You can still "stand out" in a crowd when you "stand up" for Jesus.
