Power Of The Enemy

Key scripture: “The enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy.”  John 10:10
Behold I give you the authority to trample on all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means harm you.”  Luke 10:19
See what I’ve given you? Safe passage as you walk on snakes and scorpions, and protection from every assault of the enemy. No one can put a hand on you.” The Message
Power Point:
The problem with the Enemy of our souls is that he does his job well. He manages to loose earth to earth wherever he goes. (And sometimes worse).  His most effective weapon against the children of God is destruction. He destroys health, he destroys finances, he destroys relationships. He is the great destroyer. The picture I get of that is that of a huge office building being “demolished”.  Both of those words mean, “cause of death”. That certainly fits doesn’t it?  Do you know what the antonym is for the destroyer? Creator. I like that. That means that as children of God instead of releasing hell on earth, or death-to-earth, we get to bring the Creator to earth.
We get to act in the opposite spirit. Instead of destroying relationships, or people, or whatever, we get to bring the Creator on the scene and release Him into any situation or for any person. That’s good news. And the BEST news is that when we march off to do that, Jesus promises that He goes with us, working right with us, validating the Message with indisputable evidence. (Mark 16, The Message)
This is where Satan gets us every time. He gets us to focus on the person who appears to be in charge of the destruction and we think they are the enemy. I was watching a clip from an attempted robbery, two actually, where the person came in to steal. In one instance the clerk took authority over the thief and ordered him out of the store. He looked a bit confused and left. The other clerk began talking to the young man about the love of Jesus and His power to help him. The man began to apologize profusely and left the store. You see the Enemy was using those people to terrorize and destroy people but Jesus turned it around. He always does that when His kids act in the opposite spirit, when they bring heaven to earth.
The truth is people will hurt you but the people who may be hurting you have probably been wounded at some time themselves. That makes them vulnerable to the lies of the Enemy and his nasty little tactics of destruction.
What is the extent of the power of the Enemy? As much as you choose to give him. If you’re bound to bring heaven to earth in every area of your life than you can do just that. If he begins to harass you through other people, put a stop to it by bringing heaven’s authority over him down to earth. It should cut him down to size.
The person opposing you is not the Enemy.  The Enemy is the Enemy. That person has just lost the battle with the Enemy. Makes you want to pray for them doesn’t it?
Well, if you want to bring heaven’s power to bear in the situation you should do just that!
Power Thought:
If the Enemy is the enemy, and you have the authority to trample on all the power of the Enemy, why not do it? That would bring heaven to earth wouldn’t it? Thank You Jesus!
